The McCoy's 2004 Annual Fishing Expedition Tournament Winners were: First Place - John Alexander; Second Place - Bill Stapp; Third Place - Royce Hulsey. The group had bar-b-q catered Friday evening by Ken and Larry Riley and a fish fry catered Saturday afternoon by Arlene's Catfish.

October was a good month for catching limits of stripers. Our customers caught several blue and channel catfish. The outlook for November is excellent for fishing shallow water for large stripers. The silversides are schooling and feeding on the plentiful shad in shallow water. The water temperature has dropped eleven degrees in the last two months. The fish are still hitting one and a half ounce slabs in 20 to 35 feet of water and sassy shads are excellent in two to ten feet of water. Fishing live shad on the thirty to forty feet flats is also producing limits of stripers.

Allison Transmission, Terry Laws and Stewart & Stevenson Companies had a great day on Lake Texoma October 15 fishing from three boats and catching many stripers. Thomas Maul from Arlington, TX; Darrell Starnes from Carrollton, TX; Leo Girtz from Sunnyvale, TX and Guy Sutherland from Irving TX fished with guide Greg Foster. John Rath from Plano, TX; Rusty Malone from Weatherford, TX; Donald Stewart from Collinsville, TX and Butch Mask from Weatherford, TX fished with guide Roger Hill. Terry Laws from Cleburne, TX; Steve Townsend from Keller, TX; Richard Higgins from Houston, TX; Todd Bargy from Argyle, TX and Mike Fewell from Duncan, OK fished with guide David Escamilla. Steve Townsend caught the big fish.

Roxy Cashman, fishing with her father Speedy Cashman from Prague Oklahoma, landed a fifteen pound silverside October 17. This was the largest striper Roxy has caught. She says she will be back for a larger one.

On October 22 Highland Homes of Dallas treated ten fishermen to a fishing trip and fish fry. Randy Putman of Dallas caught a 13 pound striper to win the big fish of the day award. He fished with guide Greg Foster.

Daniel Hutchison, Scurry, TX; Brian Evans, Maybank, TX; Jay Evans, Kemp, TX and Richard Hutchison and Jerry and Terry Evans, Kaufman, TX caught a limit of stripers fishing with guide Roger Hill October 23. Terry (T-Bone) Evans and Brian Evans caught the three big stripers weighing over ten pounds each.

The winner of the free fishing trip at the Oklahoma City Hunting Show was Jack Harmon from Blanchard, OK. He and Aric Harmon from Parkville, MO caught their limit of stripers and several catfish on the morning of October 25 with guide Roger Hill. Jack returned to Lake Texoma on October 29 with Jonnie, G. L. and Larry Harmon to catch another limit of stripers fishing with guide David Escamilla on an afternoon trip.

During November and December anglers can get on the lake as late as 3:00 PM and have a great chance to catch a limit of silversides and some ten pound plus fish. The early morning bite is always good. Sometimes in the fall and winter the weather is better suited for midday fishing.
